SEO Content Writing Tips To Help Increase Your Traffic And Income

SEO content writing skills can be one of the most useful skills that you should strive to develop as you start on your journey to creating a growing online income. This may also be one of the most challenging skills that you work on developing but if you stick with it and learn it, then you will always be able to use it to create more income for yourself when ever you need to.

Many online marketers are not happy with the amount of traffic that they are getting to their websites and as a result they get very frustrated, and in many cases start looking for short cuts to more traffic with less work. This is one reason why duplicate content is such a big problem on the internet.

However, having unique high quality content is one of the best ranking factors that you can focus on to help you get your webpages ranked well in the search engines and get you more search engine traffic to your webpages.

Getting unique high quality content usually takes one of two things:
1.) Money - and if you are not getting traffic, then you are probably low on money to pay for articles. Or,
2.) Time and Effort.

Developing SEO content writing skills is not complicate, it's actually pretty simple but it does take time, effort and self-discipline. Just like learning and developing any other skill (walking, talking or riding a bike) you will have to practice and work at it until you get good at it.

But once you learn it you will have a sense of empowerment knowing that you have developed a key money making skill that you can use for a lifetime.

Hopefully you are already aware of what keywords are (the topic or phrase that your content is going to focus on) and you have already done your keyword research to identify the keywords that you are going to use, if not it's very important that this part is done first or you will not be off to a good start.

Now if all of that is taken care of, here are 3 SEO content writing tips that you can use to start learning and developing this skill.

SEO Content Writing

Tip # 1

1.) Keyword/Keyword phrases - Your keyword or keyword phrase should always be included in your Title. Having your keyword phrase as the title is ideal, but this is not always practical or possible. It should also be used in your first sentence or paragraph and about once every 100-150 words (this is your keyword density) and should be included in your last paragraph.

Tip # 2

2.) Your content should content related keywords which support the topic and focus of your article and most importantly your content should be interest, informative, useful and engaging (hold your readers interest:) This is where most spun content falls short. It tends to lose much of its quality and value as a result of being spun or re-written.

Tip # 3

3.) When possible your content should include images (with the keyword used in the alt tag description) or video. Just like a vehicle with power doors and locks has greater value, content with images and video is also seen as having greater value.

Simple as one, two, three - (I know what you are thinking and you are right "Just because it is simple that does not mean that it is easy:)

But if you set aside the time and put forth the effort you will be able to look back and see how powerfully this one simple skill can enhance your life over and over and over again.

As I mentioned earlier, SEO content writing is just one of the key skills that you will need to learn to be successful marketing online.

Self Branding For Success In An Internet Marketing Business

Is branding for businesses necessary? Yes, no question, it is absolutely necessary. ANY kind of Internet business whether it's an Internet marketing business or any of the millions of other types of Internet businesses, and the same applies for offline businesses - they all need branding. Period.

Regardless of what kind of business you have, how big or small or what your products or services are or your geographical location - you need branding. A one man band business needs branding just as importantly as the corporate giants at the other end of the spectrum. Every kind of business you can think of on the planet needs branding.

Many businesses have brands and don't even know it. That's because they don't understand the need for branding, haven't actively done anything about it because they don't have a clue how to go about building it. These business owners need educating, they don't have the necessary skills to tackle it.

But their brand exists in the eyes of their customers who have made pre-judgements. It may be their customers perceive them in a positive way so they're lucky but on the same token, it could just as easily be the opposite and this is very damaging. This is how businesses can succeed or fail.

What would you rather be? A business that actively brands itself or one that has its brand determined for you? Wouldn't you rather be in the driving seat developing a brand that has all the elements for success to catapult your business into the fast lane? Who you are, what you do and how you do it, is your brand in the eyes of others so it's crucial to your success to get it right.

So business owners need to get clued up and decide how to go about building their brand.

It makes perfect business sense to get your branding right and it includes anything from an offline business which could be a corner shop in your local village or town to a high street store right up to the giants in every industry in both the private and public sectors.

It could also be someone who has their own stall in a market or someone with an online business on the Internet in a work from home situation who wants an online job.

Every single business needs branding and if you've joined the huge army of people leaving the corporate world in times of economical turmoil to set up what you consider is your own top home based business which allows you to work at home in an online job, you'll definitely need what is called self-branding.

It's all about being visible on the world-wide stage. Having a good image and being credible. You have to stand out from the crowd. How are people going to recognise you if you don't have a brand? And if you don't brand yourself, someone else will. It's what sets you apart from your competition.

You want your customers to come to know, like and trust you. Once you've achieved this, people will become loyal. They'll tell their friends and family about you too. At least, that's the objective so they go on to buy from you and return to buy more. You want to create a following. You want to develop a good reputation. This is your brand.

People buy from people they know, like and trust so set about making sure you interact with your customers. Provide value and integrity. Be honest and be yourself. Do unto others as you would have done unto you. This will make huge inroads into the building of your brand. Your customers will see through you if you are not genuine and your brand will suffer as a result.

Take some of the major household names that have strong brands. Think of almost any product or service in the world and you can think of a brand. These companies have gone to great lengths to build their brands. They have marketing departments whose job it is to build these brands and to continually reinforce them, keeping them fresh in our minds.

Ask yourself, what was the last TV commercial you watched? What clothes do you like to wear? What do you like to drink? What TV would you go and buy? What car would you like to drive? Everything has a brand associated with it.

Do brands influence your purchasing decisions? Chances are, you buy the same toothpaste each week? Chances are too that you are programmed to buy brand names automatically. It's become a sub-conscious act. Wouldn't you like that for your business? That would surely sky-rocket your business venture to success.

Let's just look at what you need to consider doing to brand or self-brand in order to make yourself visible to the world.

What is your product or service? Will it be good quality? Will it represent good value? Who do you want to market it to? You have to be able to define your target market and target them accurately?

Do your research, see who your competitors are. How are they promoting their products or services and how do they brand themselves? Do you like what you see? Maybe you want to use some of their strengths and strategies to assist you in branding yourself without blatantly copying them. But remember, you need to be unique and know what your unique selling points (USP's) are and actively promote those.

What are your key messages? What is your vision? What are your company values? What is your mission statement? What is going to make you stand out from the crowd?

What are you going to do to differentiate your business from every other business in your sector? Are you going to offer your present customers and future customers free advice and training? This is a really good strategy for building strong links in developing your brand. People will greatly value what you have to offer without needing to feel pressured to pay for everything and they will be far more likely to want to buy from you as a result.

How are you going to communicate with your customers? You need to interact with your customers to build rapport and relationships. You need to be open, accessible and honest with them. As I said before, if your customers know, like and trust you, they're going to want to buy from you.

Above all, make sure you deliver on your promises if you want your brand to grow in the right direction.

You'll need to use all sorts of marketing methods to get your messages out but in addition to your website, the social media marketing revolution will help enormously to increase your visibility and credibility. Your present and future customers are all using social media so you need to be in front of them. This will increase your brand visibility exponentially.

If this scares you and you know nothing about social media or how to go about setting it up, then don't worry, you can learn. Read some of my other articles on social media and these will surely help get you started.

When people come to know that you have integrity, are honest, credible, deliver on your promises, are reliable and offering value, your brand will start to develop and grow. Then you can build on it.

You are going to need to work on your brand identity too. You may choose to have a corporate theme and image or logo that runs throughout your website and all marketing or promotional materials, point of sale, banners, flags, stationary etc.

Many brands are recognised for a familiar jingle and most have logos or images that set them apart from their competitors. Think about what you might want.

It's a lot of hard work but once you've established a strong brand whether you have an offline business or an Internet marketing business or one of the millions of other types of Internet businesses there are, branding will make a huge difference to your success.

I wish you success on your journey.

List Building Made Easy

When it comes to turning your website into another source of income, there are many things that are very important to do. One of the best ways to start earning money with your website is by building a list, and you will find that few things will give you the opportunity for targeted marketing as much as having your own lists will.

Building a list means gathering email addresses of every person that visits your website. The more email addresses you can gather, the more people you will be able to send marketing emails out to. The more emails you send out, the more likely you are to sell one of the many products on your site. In order to ensure that your website actually earns you some profit, it is important that you build as big a list as possible.

Building a list is often the easy part, but using it may be the difficult part. To build a list, all you need to do is offer visitors to your site something FREE if they send you their email. By offering them a free report, e-book, or product, you can easily entice visitors into sending you their email address. Once they input their email address into your signup form, they walk away happy with their free product while you keep their email address.

However, it is important that you go about building your list properly. The most important thing you need to know about building a list is that you need to offer quality content if you want people to input their email addresses into your site. Most people will not visit your site more than once if the quality of you content is poor, meaning that there is little chance that they will give you their email address.

Only those who come back to your site repeatedly will actually want to give you their email address, as they will want to know when new content is added. Only those who are interested in the quality content that you are adding are going to want updates from your site, hence the saying that "content is king" definitely comes into effect when building a list.

If you do nothing else, fill your website with as much quality content as possible. Product reviews, information, data, valuable facts, recommendations, and even person thoughts are all excellent to help you attract interest and generate returning traffic to your site, as all of these things will entice people to return to your site over and over. If you can post information that people find interesting, you will find that they will gladly input their email address into your signup form. They will be interested in being part of the people to whom you send out more useful information, and you will find that your list will grow over time as you continue to add quality content.

6 Steps to Optimizing a Mobile Website You Need To Know

Most people who search using a mobile phone are motivated searchers. They want information quickly and are ready to make a purchase or get information. They are usually not ready to wait until they get to a computer with a connection and that's why they are using the phone.

The implication of this is that for any marketer who makes his mobile site visible by optimizing it, he is sure to make a sale or provide important information when required.

Here are 5 important things you need to do to optimize your website...

1. Make your website user-friendly.Your mobile website structure needs to be friendly to the crawlers and mobile devices. That means your website needs to be friendly to certain smart phones that your are targeting. It would be beneficial to know the type of devices your ideal customers have. If a majority have blackberries, then it makes sense to have a website that is easily seen and ranks high for blackberry searches.

2. Select keywords carefully. Keywords are what your website is all about. If you provide mobile website designing, you want someone searching to find you at the top of search results. Start by knowing how people search. What words do they type on search engines? What is the global and local search of those words? What is the competition of those keywords? Spend time researching on keywords or get a SEO expert to help you.

3. Have relevant content. When you type 'mobile marketing' on Google, the search engines crawlers will review all the websites with that word and decide which are the most relevant and bring the search results to you. Relevance comes from the content on your website. And if you get the keywords right, then your content needs to be around those keywords. Have the keyword on your headline when writing articles and let it appear two or three times on your article body. If you use it too much, word density will be detected and the crawlers will ignore your website.

4. Have links in other websites that point to yours.Get links from other highly relevant sites, directories and sites that command authority. These are sites that are highly ranked say Alexa ranking of below 5000. You may post comments and deposit your website link if allowed. You can write articles and leave your link there. You can answer questions or anything than allows to leave your website link.

5. Submit the website to directories. These are areas where different resources are gathered where there are enormous collections of links to various sites arranged mostly alphabetically. Examples are Google, Yahoo DMOZ.

You submit your site to directories: to get your website indexed; to improvement in search engine rankings; to help in targeting specific keywords which improves website visibility.

6. Monitor. Other websites will be competing for top positions with your keyword. Remember if it is a keyword with no competition it means nobody is searching it and that means you are not in business. What is needed is for you to monitor your progress. One day you will rank first the next day you may be second or third. You should be working tirelessly to rank high; always tweaking your content and making it relevant to the search engines.

Internet Marketing - 3 Things You Must Know Before You Can Get Started

Are you struggling to get started in Internet Marketing but just find yourself lost in a sea of confusion?

Well don't worry you're not alone.

My advice? Hit the pause button! Stop running around in circles and don't spend any more money buying the next best 'Make a Million Dollars Overnight' software program before you read this...

Firstly let's clear up some of the confusion:

If you're serious about getting into Internet Marketing then you must be realistic with your expectations. It isn't going to happen overnight! Sorry if I just burst your bubble but I have to be blunt here- do you really think that any of the mega-success stories, of self made millionaires, started with a '$27.00 Push 1 Button To Make Millions' software program? That's right, not likely! but surprisingly there are still many people who do hope it might work, those programs wouldn't be selling if they didn't.

OK, so we've got that one out of the way. The next thing you may be struggling with is just trying to understand what the heck all the terminology means, things like- SEO, CTA, PLR, JV, IM or- targeted traffic, affiliate income, backlinks, autoresponders etc., well trust me, if you don't know what they mean right now then you don't need to know what they mean, at least not yet anyway.

Alright so now you're asking "OK Pete so what are the 3 things I need to know before I can start?"

You need to know:-

#1 What it is that you want to build (what do you want to achieve?)

#2 Why you want to build it (just to get rich ain't gonna work)

#3 How you are going to build it (you're plan of action)

As simple as it sounds it's very important that you get clear on this because once you get this right you are already miles ahead of the masses. Let me expand on it with an analogy of a bird building a nest.

Birds just intrinsically know these 3 steps and we know that a bird can build a nest pretty fast, but even so, they can only build it one piece at a time. The thing is that they can gather hundreds of pieces in a day and they know exactly where they have to put each piece to achieve their desired result, but...

If they didn't have a vision of a nest embedded in their tiny little mind at the outset, then it could never happen.

This is the same principle in building your internet business, which is going to be your nest, right? First you have to have the vision of your desired result firmly planted in your mind. Then you must have a good enough reason why you are doing it, so you'll stay motivated. The how then simply becomes a 'step by step' process. You can't bypass any of the steps or it will all just fall apart.

That is the #1 reason why most attempts at Internet Marketing end up as failures. So what's the solution? Firstly just accept the fact that it's going to take a bit of time to get it going, and that you're going to have to put in the effort if you want to succeed. Next research, research, research, if you are new to Internet Marketing then you do have lot to learn, but getting it right from the outset is very important, the rest you'll learn as you go along.

I just did a 'Google' search on the phrase 'what do I need to build an internet business' and was astonished to find 957,000,000 results! Now, depending on your abilities, you might be able to go out (online) and gather all the pieces you think you'll need, in a day or a week or whatever, but it might take you weeks or months just to understand how it's going to work, and then maybe even years to figure out how it all fits together, and no doubt at the end of all that you would also find that you've bought many pieces that just don't fit anywhere!

This brings me to a point that I cannot emphasize strongly enough- You are going to need some expert assistance! You might try to duck and weave around this one, but I can assure you that the best and quickest way to achieve the same success as someone you admire, is to follow in his (or her) footsteps! Learn what they did and copy it.

As you probably know the information market is booming, so I highly recommend you stick at it and find your seat on this bus! The best thing is that, not only are there many free tutorials available on the Internet, but there are also many successful people with a very high code of ethics and integrity who will gladly help you to succeed. This is a new breed of entrepreneurs who know that there is so much business out there, the market is so vast, that there is plenty for everyone who makes the effort to succeed.

Here you find the mindset for enduring success- the desire to be of service by helping others! So what is it that you can offer to the world? Don't be shy, just get started, follow my suggestions here and of course anywhere else that you can find good advice, and you will find that your idea soon starts to gain a momentum of its own, and will grow like the proverbial snowball.

If you would like more information to help you understand Internet Marketing, I am giving away a great collection of 7 ebooks for free at my website http://www.petewaters.com/

4 Internet Marketing Strategies Worth Checking Out

The internet is the new place where dreams are made and millionaires are made! At least that's what everyone says. The truth is, making money off of the internet is not as easy as it sounds. For big companies, it is a natural move to expand their offerings into cyberspace, but if you are a small business owner or a start-from-zero wannabe contender, then you will need to learn as many Internet marketing strategies as you possibly can. To get you started, we present four strategies that are worth putting in your playbook.

The gold standard of marketing will always be advertising. Make no bones about it, getting your name out there in the lights is what you need most, and advertising is the most direct way to achieve that. The internet offers quite the selection of ways to advertise. You can post banners and posters on your website or have an advertiser publish it for you on many sites. Innovative advertising methods take note of user preferences and page content to deliver material that is more likely to elicit interest from the individual user, meaning a greater effect per delivery. Of course, you could also go old school and post your information in an online classified ads publication - often free of charge!

The World Wide Web is not just the sum of its parts, but also of the connections between parts. Linkage is the name of the game, and a website with more links leading to it is more likely to be given a better search engine ranking. One strategy to make this happen is to find affiliates and partners. Affiliate marketers advertise your website for you on the websites they own or frequent, and often get paid per user who clicks through to your website. Partners advertise your website if you do the same for them. Either way, you should be looking into ways of getting leverage out of your fellow Internet businessmen.

The term "viral" used to simply mean "related to viruses" or those tiny pathogens that make you sick. Nowadays, "viral" connotes a very rapid, explosive rise in popularity due to some element - usually of the entertaining type. A viral video can easily get your website up there, but it takes real talent, skill, and luck to pull this off. Even something technically perfect won't go viral if it does not have something special about it that makes people want to share it with their social networks.

Who does not love freebies? Giving away free stuff periodically is a great way to keep customers coming back in addition to enticing new customers. Freebies can be used in conjunction with any of the other strategies, and with the right application can produce profits far greater than the expenditures for the campaign.

Because the World Wide Web is an ever-changing and all-encompassing medium, there are no fixed rules about how you should play the game. However, you can, without a doubt, improve your chances by learning about Internet marketing strategies and applying them judiciously.

An Easy Way to Increase Online Web Site Traffic in No Time at All

Marketing your products or services to the world means you will increase online web site traffic, of this there is absolutely no doubt. Knowing just how to successfully market these on the other hand, can leave many doubts in your mind as to which strategies will actually prove to be the most effective.

To lay any doubts you may have about whether or not the various marketing strategies available work or not, you have to consider what would happen if you did not use any of them to increase online web site traffic in your marketing campaign. The answer is simply that an online and/or offline business would seriously suffer the consequences.

Capturing your targeted audience means work. It involves researching your niche market and then exploiting all the channels at your disposal in order to get your business noticed by the ever inquisitive consumer. The only way you will achieve this is to write enough content about your online business and get this published in directories, on forums, blogs and anywhere that is available to you.

Of course your content has to be interesting for the readers and unique for the search engines. It is vital that you stick to any strategy you put into place but it is also very important to adhere to the many rules of SEO, search engine optimisation.

The manner in which your content is written and perceived by search engines is going to dictate the ranking or indexing of your website. You have to get it right in order to attract the vital targeted traffic you need because this is the traffic that will convert into your much needed sales.

People all over the world are looking for solutions to problems they have. They are looking for these on the Internet and they always like to find a solution as quickly as they can. The advent of the Internet has made the consumer even more demanding when it comes to the speed at which they get an answer to whatever it is they are seeking.

Higher ranking means they will find your website quickly and effectively. Building up your ranking may take a little time and effort but it goes without saying that it is worth it. You need to know how you would be able to help your customers solve their problems and the only way you can do this is if you know what they are looking for. How they are searching the Internet for it. In short, what words are they using when they type in their 'search phrases'?

An example of this is if a person is looking to buy a new fishing rod, they may type in 'fishing + rod'. Search engines will then pick up on these keywords and find all the relevant information and websites. The lists that appear on the screen can be viewed by the person and the chances are they will click onto a web address at the top of the list. They may also see a brand they recognise and prefer to go to that site. Human behaviour is such that a buyer will always go to somewhere they know because it makes them feel safe.

Feeling safe and secure in life in general is important to the consumer. It is as true when they are browsing the Internet from the comfort of their own homes. The ease of which they can find what they are looking for does not detract from the fact that they want to be sure they are doing business with someone they can trust. This means you have to establish your business, you will not only be able to solve a problem for the consumer but you will always be there for them should they need to contact you.

Driving traffic to a website is all about marketing strategies and content with reliability and trust thrown in. You can create pathways for customers to get to your website in a variety of ways, whether you pay for them or not. The more strategies you have in place, the more chances you have to increase online web site traffic.
